Another thrilling finish for the locals at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour premier series taking place at the Cove at Okada Manila. An outburst of celebration filled the venue after crowd favorite Vivencio Nachor defeated Japan’s Kaoru Kishimoto at heads up of the featured APPT National. Nachor walked away with a solid PHP 3,000,000 (~USD 51,340) in cash and a PHP 200,000 package to the upcoming APPT Championship.

APPT National
The featured APPT National drew 449 entries over three starting days to generate a guarantee-smashing prize pool of PHP 15,679,080 (~USD 268,325). At the end of Day 2, the final table was formed with Filipino Vivencio Nachor running just a few big blinds behind race leader Kaoru Kishimoto from Japan.
Within the first half hour, Nachor jumped out front, and continued to build his stack and after eliminating Seokchul Hwang in 4th place, he had nearly half the chips in play.
Nachor’s momentum was halted on a cooler against Seungcheol Choi with improving to trips aces to survive against Nachor’s . This sent Nachor plunging to 14 bb, the shortest for him all day.
Staging a comeback, Nachor landed a double up with that turned the straight then resumed grinding to even up with Choi and Kishimoto. The fast rise was met with an equally fast drop as Nachor lost multiple pots including a failed bluff.
Back to grinding, Nachor doubled up twice to regain control and once again was sent down in a big hand against Kishimoto. Nachor recovered some of the lost chips by finishing off Choi in 3rd place.
The final step to the title lasted all of four hands with Nachor starting off with 37 bb to Kishimoto’s 47 bb. Nachor took the lead on the first hand and never looked back. The last hand was Nachor over .
