Nishant Sharma Wins Back-To-Back Poker Dream Main Event Titles; Joshua Tjan, Akshay Nasa, Yeu Wei Hsiang win events

 

Déjà vu! Nishant Sharma has secured back-to-back Poker Dream Main Event victories! History was made at the recently concluded Poker Dream 11 Malaysia festival with Sharma becoming the first player to win two Poker Dream Main Event titles. The Indian pro topped the star loaded final table and walked away with a payout deal of MYR 811,629 (~$183,600).

For those who may not remember, at Poker Dream 10 Vietnam, Sharma stunned the competition after his comeback from bubble boy to champion. This earned him his first ever major title and became the first owner of the newly designed Poker Dream trophy. Proving it was no fluke, Sharma returned to Poker Dream, this time for the Malaysia leg, and stunned the crowd once again with his victory.

With this result, Sharma easily breached US$ 1 Million in live earnings per Hendon Mob. Prior to the win, he placed second at the Mystery Big Bounty for a payout of MYR 67,300 (~$14,900).

The Poker Dream 11 Malaysia Main Event drew 2,103 entries for a prize pool of MYR 6,807,305 (~$1.54M). Among the finalists was newly crowned Mystery Bounty winner Ang Yang Siang who carried in the largest stack into the final table.

Another standout on the final day was Malaysia’s Joshua Tjan, who claimed victory at the Mini Main Event, earning a payout of MYR 78,600 (~$17,760). Tjan is a seasoned Poker Dream champion, holding the distinction of being the brand’s first-ever Main Event winner.

Akshay Nasa at Poker Dream Malaysia

Decorated Indian player Akshay Nasa claimed his first ever Poker Dream win with a victory at the Mini High Roller event. Nasa earned the MYR 104,500 (~$23,600) top prize from a prize pool of MYR 379,755 (~$85,800).

Yeu Wei Hsiang at Poker Dream Malaysia

No stranger to winning Poker Dream events, Malaysia’s Yeu Wei Hsiang clinched his career fourth brand title at the Mystery Bounty High Roller. Along with the new merch, Hsiang pocketed MYR 254,000 (~$57,380) plus an extra MYR 109,700 (~$24,780) in bounties. The event drew a field of star-heavy contenders building a prize pool of MYR 1,052,932 (~$237,850).
