Nonstop knockouts was the theme at Day 2 of the 12th CPG Championship Finals with the 1,446 returning players out of the event’s 3,787 entry field further trimmed to just 257 players. That meant over the course of ten hours of play a total of 1,189 players fell by the wayside. Going down the hardest was Suiyuan Chen who exited on the bubble. During the tenth hand-for-hand, Chen ran into a cooler with KcKh dusted by Changyu Ren’s AcAs.

The remaining 405 players then celebrated reaching the money and from there, the dropouts were even faster. By bagging time, a familiar face was at the top of the counts, WSOP bracelet holder Qiang Xu sitting on a deep 122 big blinds.
