The APF Hanoi Spring Series was to be the first international event in Hanoi, Vietnam this year. The unfortunate news comes two days after the APF released a statement on facebook that it had severed ties with Top Joy Poker Tour (TJPT) and that the series was now to be run solely by APF.

Shortly after, TJPT released a statement on WeChat stating:

“After careful consideration, TJPV will withdraw from the TJPV and APF Hanoi Spring Series in Hanoi. In view of the announcement made by the fomer partner APF before the situation became clear, we would like to make the following clarification:

Due to various objective reasons, the partnership between APF and TJPv failed to achieve the partnership goals set by both sides before the start of the tournament. In the process of cooperation, we have always expressed good faith and cooperative attitude, actively negotiate to solve the problem. However, after numerous dialogues, the two sides were still unable to reach an agreement on the partnership obligations and details of the event.”

The statement goes on to inform affected players on how to redeem their TJPT International Qualification Cards and compensation / refund for expenses incurred.

The canceled APF Hanoi Spring Series was to be the Asian Poker Festival’s second event since inception. Its inaugural launch in December closed out 2023 in Vietnam paying out an impressive VN₫ 49 Billion, roughly equivalent to ~$2.02 Million, signifying a great start for the newcomer.
