WSOP Online $1 Million Guaranteed Mystery Bounty Cancelled During Final Day

The World Series of Poker Online cancelled its $250 Mystery Bounty tournament after “technical difficulties” gave players who made the second day restart of the day fits.

While some players were completely locked out of the online room, others were able to compete in different tournaments on the site even as the $250 Mystery Bounty event was on its way to cancellation during its second-day restart where a top bounty of $100,000 was up for grabs.

WSOP Online took to their socials with this:

“Today’s restart of Online Bracelet Event #7 encountered technical difficulties which resulted in a high number of players unable to log in for the tournament. Therefore the tournament has been cancelled and all players who were in the field on the start of Day 2 will be contacted.”

Multiple flights for the $250 Mystery Bounty took place every day since the Series started May 31, and nearly 7,000 players attempted to make it to yesterday’s second day, when the bounty prizes kicked-in.

To further complicate matters, the top bounty of $100,000 was reportedly pulled before the event was canned. That player, “DaSurrealist,” and others players who happened to pull a bounty before the tournament crashed may not receive their prize as the site’s Terms of Serive says the remaining players will evenly split the remaining equity evenly, no matter if they were leading the whole tournament, or were hanging on by a couple blinds.

This will be updated once WSOP Online releases more information.

WSOP Online is in the middle of three different series — the MEGA Circuit, an Online Championship slate, and the bracelet events. The site recently hooked its players located in Pennsylvania to those in New Jersey, Michigan, and Nevada, and the migration has gone smoothly until yesterday.

It didn’t seem like any other event was affected on the site, although players reported that they were unable to access the tables because of a geolocation glitch.

The WSOP Online bracelet race continues until July 15.
