TJPA Sydney Poker Championships 2024 Main Event
The crown jewel of the series, TJPA Sydney Poker Championships Main Event, kicks off on Friday, May 3rd, just a day before the weekend festivities begin. While the guarantee has been adjusted recently, the A$1,000,000 (~USD 650,000) set prize pool still brings a sizeable amount onto the table left to vie for.
Four heats complete the schedule, each charging an entry fee of A$ 2,500 (~USD 1,629) with the last one deemed to run a much faster turbo format. All Day 1 entries start off with a 40,000 stack equivalent to 400 times the starting blinds, playing through 40 minute blind levels through registration at the end of Level 9. Once the day’s tally is locked in, gameplay will adjust to 60 minute levels all the way down to the Final Table.
With lots of room for play, tournament runners will course through a total of fifteen levels for Day 1 and an additional nine hours on the felt for the Day 2 games. Those making the cut will be met with another set of eight hour levels, leading to Day 4 where action will conclude once the final table is set or by the end of Level 40, whichever comes first. Each player is allowed two re-entries per Day 1, giving those eyeing to secure Main Event glory more than enough chances across the four qualifying flights.
