GGPoker Bans Third-Party Software, Adds Security Controls for Players

GGPoker has prohibited third-party poker software from being used on its platform, PokerNews reported. Among the tools now banned is HUD software, which players have long used to track and display opponent statistics during play.

According to PokerNews, GGPoker had previously permitted certain third-party tools that did not alter gameplay. The specific programs named in the report as affected by the new prohibition are Jurojin Poker, Holdem Manager 3, and Poker Tracker 4.

Alongside the software ban, PokerNews reported that GGPoker is introducing four security functions designed to give players greater control over their privacy and account protection. One of those controls prevents screenshots and screen capture from being taken at open tables, the report noted. GGPoker also said it will deploy anomaly checks to identify accounts that show unusually high win rates.

On the player guidance side, PokerNews reported that GGPoker advised its users to scan their devices for security threats, adopt passkeys in place of traditional passwords, and keep their operating systems up to date.
