2024 WCOOP Schedule: $80 Million Prizepool and Special Surprises for Women

The schedule for PokerStars’ 23rd World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has been released, and this year, the $80 million series will put women front and center. Alongside winner’s trophies and a $100,000 leaderboard challenge, PokerStars four females will win seats in the Women’s Winter Festival.

The latest WCOOP on PokerStars’ international dot.com network gets underway on September 8 with a trio of “kickoff” events. As has become customary in recent years, 123 events on the schedule are pitched at three levels: Low, Medium, and High.

That means players can ante in the first event for $5.50, $55, or $530. This dynamic continues throughout September and into October, when three players will take home WCOOP main event titles.

Action-packed WCOOP schedule has something for everyone

An extra 10 events take the total number of tournaments this year to 379, which means there are plenty of options for players at every level between September 8 and October 2. The winner of every WCOOP 2024 event gets a trophy, and anyone who cashes gets Player of the Series points.

The most consistent players during the 25-day series win a share of $100,000. The other standout aspects of this year’s series, other than the $80 million guaranteed prizepool, are the female-focused innovations.

The 2024 WCOOP schedule features four women’s events:

Saturday, 28 September

  • The 2024 WCOOP Women’s Championship Event: $215 No Limit Hold’em event with a $20,000 guarantee

Sunday, 29 September

  • The 2024 WCOOP Women’s PKO [Low]: $5.50 No Limit Hold’em event with a $2,500 guarantee
  • The 2024 WCOOP Women’s PKO [Medium]: $22 No Limit Hold’em event with a $7,500 guarantee
  • The 2024 WCOOP Women’s PKO [High]: $109 No Limit Hold’em event with a $15,000 guarantee

Winners from each of the above events get a £1,200 package for the Women’s Winter Festival at London’s Hippodrome Casino. As well as a seat in the £400 main event, package winners get three nights’ accommodation and money for expenses.

PokerStars continues to make WCOOP welcoming for women

PokerStars has been a leading advocate for women in poker over the last few years, and the latest WCOOP innovation is a testament to that.

Indeed, you only need to go back a few years to find a WCOOP schedule without events reserved for women. Now, along with ambassadors such as Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Kerryjane Craigie, PokerStars is doing more for women than ever before.

That, along with a plethora of Power Path satellites for those who want to qualify for less than $1, should help to make WCOOP 2024 a marquee series.
