The World Poker Tour Prime Circuit will see double-header action in August. First up is WPT Prime Taiwan as we’ve already reported, and then things shift to the Mediterranean, where it’ll be the turn of the WPT Prime Cyprus festival, which runs from August 15-26 at the luxurious Chamada Prestige Hotel & Spa. Both festivals will feature a massive $1M guaranteed prize pool for their championship events.
WPT Prime Cyprus has something rare at a live festival: a guaranteed prize pool at ALL of its events, from the $550 Welcome Event to the $5,300 Super High Roller. As mentioned, the Prime Championship event will have $1M guaranteed, and adding up the guarantees across all 14 events at the festival brings the total to $2,500,000 .
“As we continue our globetrotting mission to spread poker around the world, we’re proud to introduce Cyprus to the 2024 schedule,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a press release. “The great Chamada Prestige will host the first-ever WPT venture in the beautiful island country,” Pliska continued.
Cardplayer Lifestyle founder Robbie Strazynski will be in attendance in Cyprus and will be reporting first-hand on everything happening at the festival. If you see him, be sure to say hi, he’ll probably have a patch to give you as a gift. And if you’re a fan of mixed games, we invite you to get in touch with Robbie as he’s likely to try and organize a friendly low-stakes cash game there.
