The money bubble may be about to burst in the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event, but the hype is apparently not enough, as the WSOP has announced the dates for the third running of WSOP Paradise. Hosted jointly by the owner of the WSOP brand, GGPoker, and Triton Poker, WSOP Paradise will span December 4-18 at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The big news, though, is that the $25,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Super Main Event Championship will have an astounding $60 million guaranteed prize pool, the largest guarantee in live tournament history. That is $10 million higher than last year’s $50 million guarantee, the previous record.
“They called us crazy last year for launching the Super Main Event with the biggest live tournament guarantee ever, so consider this a re-raise,” said WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart in a press release. “WSOP Paradise is here to stay, and we’re making poker history once again, with the $60,000,000 guarantee and some new signature events. The expanded partnership with Triton, alongside the new Super Mystery Bounty kickoff event, headlines what is a can’t-miss winter festival.”
And aside from the timing of the announcement, there is a link between WSOP Paradise and the current WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. Normally, the Main Event’s “bubble boy” receives a consolation prize of a buy-in to the following year’s Main Event, but today, the last person to be eliminated on the money bubble will instead gain a $30,000 package to the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event, which includes the buy-in for the tourney and an Atlantis resort stay.
The full WSOP Paradise schedule will be released later, but a few details have been revealed, including the first tournament of the series, the $2,500 buy-in WSOP Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty. It appears to be open to everybody, but every WSOP Circuit ring winner from July 1 through December 2 will receive a $5,000 prize package for the event.
Triton will have multiple tournaments at WSOP Paradise, including the $250,000 Triton Invitational and $100,000 buy-in versions of No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Hold’em.
GGPoker will be offering qualifiers into the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event; Road to Paradise qualifers are already running, with more options to come.
