Following Tin closely, Nguyen Duc Thanh bagged 352,000 chips as second in chip lead.  Tin will have to be careful maintaining his chip lead coming into Day2 considering his compatriot’s experience over his.

The first flight of Day1 attracted 133 players which included some of the most familiar names in the Asian poker industry.  Every 40-minute level was filled with tension as the players attempted to survive to make it to Day2. Some of those prestigious names, however, fell short of qualifying.  WSOP 2019 Ladies Champion Ji Young Kim went deep into the day but didn’t survive long enough to move forward.  Other notables included Dao Minh Phu, Quang Huy Nguyen, Kyle Bao Diep, Hai Nam Hoang.

The Warm-Up Event#1 also finished today with Daniel Lau Lik Kun winning US$21,100 against Lee Sung Hak who took home $14,000 for his efforts.  It was a breathtaking moment when both players tabled their hands to show Jc Jd for Kun against Hak’s who held pocket As Ac. But as all poker players know, sometimes it is not enough to have pocket Aces especially when the board revealed 2h Jh 6d 6h Td, leaving his opponent shocked and in 2nd place with $14,000.
