Four players limped to see a flop of 9h4d3d. Sanford Kornfeld checked from the small blind, and Nancy Birnbaum moved all in from the big blind for 495,000.

Altabal Mohamed (hijack) folded, Jeffrey Homer (button) called, and Kornfeld folded.

Birnbaum showed Qh9s for a pair of nines, and Homer turned over 9c7c for a pair of nines with a lower kicker. Birnbaum needed her hand to hold to stay alive.

The turn card was the 6c, giving Homer additional outs with a gutshot straight draw, but the river card paired the board with the 3h. Birnbaum won the pot with two pair, nines and threes with a queen kicker, to double up in chips.

Nancy Birnbaum  –  1,215,000  (30 bb)
Jeffrey Homer  –  1,080,000  (27 bb)

With five players remaining from a field of 252, the average chip stack is around 1,010,000 (25 big blinds). The remaining players are guaranteed at least $5,000 each.
