Ever since they reached the nine-handed final table (which was also the Money Bubble), there have been a surprising number of all-in-and-call situations at this final table, even accounting for the fact that it’s a hi-low game (Omaha 8). But the short stacks kept surviving over and over again, which is why the limits are so high compared to the chip stacks. But that situation wasn’t sustainable forever.

Michael Gross moved all in under the gun for 55,000, and Sandy Sanchez reraised from the hijack. Everyone else folded.

The board came AsQd6c9h5s, and neither player could make a qualifying low. Sanchez won the entire pot with his higher two pair, aces and queens, to eliminate Gross in seventh place.

With six players remaining from a field of 62, the average chip stack is around 260,000 (4 Big Bets). The remaining players are guaranteed at least $1,775 each.
