Entering heads-up play with just 21.5 big blinds against an opponent sitting on 123.2, Argentina’s “Fedevalle” looked like a heavy underdog — but managed to pull off a remarkable comeback to claim the 888poker $80,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event title and a $7,103 top prize, according to PokerNews, which reported on the result on August 18, 2026.
PokerNews reported that the turnaround began when “Fedevalle” flopped a pair of aces against Sweden’s “Magnolia176,” who held ace-queen of diamonds — a double-up that kept the Argentinian alive. From there, the match swung decisively on a flush-over-flush pot: “Fedevalle” held jack-six of diamonds against “Magnolia176’s” ten-three of diamonds, with the higher jack kicker proving decisive and handing the chip lead to the eventual champion. The final hand saw “Fedevalle’s” king-jack connect with a jack on the flop to beat “Magnolia176’s” king-seven of clubs, ending the contest in under 45 minutes of heads-up play.
The event drew 772 entrants, a total that PokerNews noted resulted in an overlay on the $80,000 guarantee. Despite finishing second, “Magnolia176” of Sweden collected $6,794 in combined prize money and bounties — actually more than the champion’s take when bounties alone are considered, given that “Fedevalle” claimed just $591 in bounties compared to “Magnolia176’s” $1,954. Uruguay’s “Guuadania” finished third for $3,811 total, while Chile’s “Billy_Slater” took fourth for $3,166. The UK’s “BrownBrit” rounded out the top five at $3,390, a figure boosted by $1,810 in bounty earnings.
Ukraine’s “tarakan915” was both the shortest stack when the final table began and the first player eliminated, departing in eighth place for $655, per PokerNews. The tournament’s single biggest individual winner, however, never made it close to the final table: Brazil’s “TTeixeirAA” busted in 32nd place but walked away with an $8,000 jackpot bounty, making them the top earner in the entire field.
