In fewer than one week from now, the inaugural Jin Bei Cup featuring a jaw dropping $5 Million guarantee will take place at the lavish Jin Bei Palace Hotel in the coastal shores of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, which boasts luxurious suites for visitors from near and far. The event takes place from May 7 to 9, 2024 and includes three tournaments, of which the $50,000 Short Deck Main Event takes the center stage.

A guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000 awaits and the winner is certain to receive at least $1.5 Million for their efforts, with second spot notching up at least $800,000 and third a minimum of $600,000. If the massive guarantee will be surpassed, all prizes will be adjusted accordingly.

All high-stakes players set to take part in the series can take advantage of the early bird package, which includes accommodation for 4 nights at Jin Bei 2, 24 hour airport transfers, vip butler service and free dining services during the event. Already known to take part in the tournament are the international superstars Tom Dwan and Dan “Jungleman” Cates.

Martin Nielsen - JIn Bei Cup

The latest player to confirm his attendance is Short Deck WSOP champion Martin Nielsen, who hails from the Faroe Islands. One year ago in Event #97: $10,000 Short Deck No-Limit Hold’em, Nielsen came out on top of a 106-entry strong field at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to claim the coveted WSOP gold bracelet and top prize of $270,160.

Those likely to join from the Triton Poker Short Deck events are legendary Macau high-stakes legend Wang Qiang, widely known as “Shanghai Wong” as well as Kenneth Kee with many other Chinese players expected to enter as well.

The tournament structures are already available on the Jin Bei Poker website and the event organizers have also clarified the buy-in rules for the flagship Main Event as well.

Jin Bei Cup – Main Event Structure

Jin Bei Cup Day 1 will play a  total of 12 levels of 30 minutes each with six-handed tables and two bullets of 150,000 chips each for every initial entry. Unlimited re-entries are available during the registration period, which is open until the start of the final day at 2 p.m. local time on May 9, 2024.

From the 10th level, players who are eliminated can choose to make a one-time buy-in of two stacks and pay a registration fee of $104,000 to recommence their journey with 600,000 in chips. Before the start of Day 2, all players can then also choose to add-on for one or two stacks as well, with each stack exchanging the buy-in amount for 300,000 chips.

One thing is certain even before the cards are in the air: This Short Deck high-stakes contest promises tantalizing action from start to finish with top pros taking on Asian businessmen to showcase their talents in one of the most action-packed poker variants.
