Renowned Asian Poker Tour is heading back to its roots with a grand return to Manila, Philippines following nearly a two year absence. On its official social media channel, the rapidly growing regional brand unveiled the long awaited dates for APT Manila 2024 slated this coming October 28th through November 7th. The exciting return comes just a few weeks following its largest guaranteed APT Taipei Classic 2024 across two major venues in Taiwan.
Along with its return, powerhouse Asian Poker Tour is set to welcome a fresh partnership with its potential new home, Soul Poker Club located in five star luxury resort and casino, City of Dreams Manila. The newest poker room to enter the metropolis’ buzzing live scene, Soul Poker Club has been running several cash games daily along with weekly tournaments since late this May. While more information on the upcoming series is yet to be known, numerous followers have already responded in delight, expressing their eagerness to attend the anticipated games.
Manila etched in Asian Poker Tour history
Established in 2008, APT has built a solid reputation throughout the years and has grown to amass a huge following, widely known for offering world class action, great value games, and well structured events. Top poker hotspots Manila and Macau, served as the Tour’s homebase in its early years, making multiple showings annually for over a decade. While the brand found its numbers slowly building up, the 2019 pandemic put a halt to all live poker operations, forcing at least three scheduled Manila stops to hit the cancel button.
It took three years for APT to make another appearance, beginning with a summer festival in 2022 headlined by a PHP 15,000,000 (~USD 266,730) guaranteed Main Event. The series landed another success, having smashed its guarantee with 370 entries, seemingly picking up right where it left off.
A couple months later, the red and black banners were back at Newport World Resorts Manila, and hoisted the same pot, which drew in a bigger crowd this time. With the momentum, APT was back for more action just seven weeks later, and boasted an extensive lineup of 41 events for its final installment of the year. Local runner Moses Saquing emerged as the season’s biggest winner, having successfully collected his career second APT major title across the Main Event games for over PHP 4.9 Million (~USD 85K).
