It didn’t take long for the bracket to be set for the $25,000 buy-in National Heads-Up Poker Championship (NHUPC) since the tournament’s revival was announced early this week. On Thursday night, the 64-player draw was held at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, with the participants eagerly awaiting what their paths to the championship will look like.
The Spades and Clubs bracket are on one side, Hearts and Diamonds on the other. The winners of the black-suit brackets will square off in the final four, likewise with the winners of the red-suit brackets.
The tourney is single-elimination, but if it holds true to its original form, the finals will be best-of-three. The top 16 finishers will make the money: $500,000 for first place, $275,000 for second, $150,000 for the other two semi-finalists, $75,000 those who reach the Elite Eight, and $25,000 to players who make the Sweet Sixteen.
