Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival X Coming to Resorts World Las Vegas in February

Next month, X marks the spot at Resorts World, Las Vegas, as in Cardplayer Lifestyle’s Mixed Game Festival X. Presented by PokerGO Tour, the five-day poker party highlighting mixed-games will take place Feb. 16-20.

The Mixed Game Festival X takes place Feb. 16-20.

Anchored by two tourneys — a $300 Omaha 8/Stud 8 event Monday, Feb. 17, and a $300 H.E.R.O.S. tournament on Thursday, Feb. 20 — the tenth version of Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival will feature nonstop dealer’s choice cash game action at limits as low as $4/8 and $8/16, with higher stakes available upon request.

But wait, there’s more. The man behind both the series and CardsPlayer Lifestyle, Robbie Strazynski, also included two classes for players to learn different forms of poker. Strazynski was also the host of CardChat’s podcast.

“In addition to providing an avenue for low-stakes players to enjoy dealer’s choice cash games and mixed game tournaments, we always try to do something unique at each Mixed Game Festival,” Strazynski told CardsChat. “This time around, we’ll have two sessions devoted to teaching, namely Drawmaha Tuesday and Women’s Wednesday. If you’re hesitant or afraid to try non-hold’em poker, it’s a great, risk-free opportunity to learn the mechanics and basic strategy of other exciting poker variants.”

Lupe Soto and recent Women in Poker hall of Fame inductee Jeanne David will be the professors on Women’s Wednesday. That seminar will focus on teaching and practicing Stud games like Razz, seven-card Stud, and seven-card Stud 8 or Better.

The whole thing kicks-off with a pizza party noon Feb. 16, in Resorts World’s poker room, followed by “all the dealer’s choice cash games you can eat.”

Monday’s $300 Omaha 8/Stud 8 event is expected to draw 50 to 70 players.

Big league sponsor

For the first time, Cardplayer Lifestyle partnered with the PGT as the presenting sponsor. The high-stakes tour is holding its PGT Mixed Games series at PokerGO studios at Aria Feb. 24 to March 4. As a bonus, two players will be randomly awarded seats into a $750 8-Game Mix satellite event on Feb. 24.

“Initiatives like the Mixed Game Festival simply aren’t possible without the support of great hosting venues and sponsors. We’re thrilled to be back at Resorts World Las Vegas once again, with their A-plus staff guaranteeing our players a great experience” Strazynski said. “Plus, we’ll have the PokerGO Tour as our presenting sponsor for the first time. With our players having the opportunity to win two $750 PGT Mixed Games satellite seats, the dream of playing ‘in the big leagues’ with the world’s top mixed game pros can become a reality.”

Here’s how the seat giveaway will work:

The two seats will be given away during our $300 H.E.R.O.S. tourney on Thursday, February 20, as follows:

  • At the close of registration (2:15 p.m.), a player remaining in the $300 H.E.R.O.S. tourney on Feb. 20, will be selected at random and be awarded one of the PGT Mixed Games satellite seats. The second one will be awarded via a Mystery Bounty. The one exception is that a player cannot win both prizes.
  • For the first seat, they’ll randomly select a table (via seat cards), where a “blind flip” will take place to decide the winner.
  • The Mystery Bounty portion of the event begins at the conclusion of registration with a single prize of the second satellite ticket.
