With the board showing 7h5h4s2s, Viet Vo checked from the big blind, the UTG+1 player bet 7,400, and Vo check-raised to 21,000. The UTG+1 player thought for a while before he called.

The river card was the 8d, and Vo moved all in for 22,300. The UTG+1 player went into the tank for a fairly long time with a stack of about 22,000.

The UTG+1 player eventually folded, and Vo showed 7s3s as he took the pot — a pair of sevens with a missed flush draw and a missed straight draw.

“I should have listened to my gut,” said the UTG+1 player. “That was a great bet.”

Somebody else asked him a question about the hand, and the UTG+1 player said, “I didn’t figure out shit. It just felt wrong to me.”

Viet Vo  –  67,000  (112 bb)

The next hand, a player raised from middle position to 1,200, Jeremy Becker reraised from the hijack to 3,700, and Viet Vo four-bet it from the small blind to 11,000. The initial raiser folded, and Becker called.

The flop came Jh6h4c, Vo bet 8,500, and Becker called.

The turn card was the 9d, and both players checked.

The river card was the 7c, Vo bet 20,500, and Becker folded. Vo took the pot.

Viet Vo  –  89,000  (148 bb)
Jeremy Becker  –  55,000  (92 bb)

The tournament clock shows 564 entries so far, generating a prizepool worth more than $1.8 million on its way to the $3 million guarantee. Registration remains open with unlimited re-entries until the start of Level 9 (around 9:15 pm).

There will be a 90-minute dinner break after Level 6, around 5:30 pm. Action will continue tonight until the end of Level 10, around 11:15 pm.
