After a flop of As10s4h, a player in middle position checked, Travell Thomas bet 3,000 from the cutoff, and his opponent check-raised to 12,000.

Thomas moved all in, and the cutoff quickly called all in for about 24,500 with Ad4d for two pair, aces and fours. Thomas turned over AcKc for a pair of aces, and his opponent needed his two pair to hold to stay alive.

The turn card paired the board with the 10c, the river card was the 3c, and the pair on the board counterfeited the short stack’s two pair. Thomas won the pot with two pair, aces and tens with a king kicker to eliminate his opponent.

As he was leaving the table, the eliminated player complained out loud about how the cards were against him today. The dealer said something like they always receive the blame, but never the credit.

Thomas turned to the dealer, smiled, and said, “I’m complimenting you. You did an excellent job.”

Travell Thomas  –  97,000  (162 bb)

The tournament clock shows 527 entries so far on Day 1B, for a tournament total of 1,252 and counting. The prizepool is worth more than $4.04 million, easily beating the $3 million guarantee.

There will be a 90-minute dinner break after Level 6 (around 5:30 pm), and action will continue tonight until the end of Level 10, around 11:15 pm.
