Finland’s Elias Suhonen topped a 31-player field and defeated Nicholas Seward heads-up to claim €114,200 from a €310,000 prize pool in the €10,200 No-Limit Hold’em event at the 2026 PokerStars EPT Barcelona festival, according to PokerNews. It was, per PokerNews, the fourth six-figure live score of Suhonen’s career — and the largest prize among the five champions covered in the outlet’s August 18 report.
The final table of that event also featured French player Jean-Noel Thorel in third place for €48,900, Morocco’s Mehdi Chaoui in fourth for €35,300, and American Brandon Wilson in fifth for €28,600, PokerNews reported. Elsewhere in the festival, Sweden’s Erik Lindqwist took down the €5,200 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max — a 37-entry field including re-entries that generated a €185,000 prize pool — earning €68,200 in what PokerNews described as a career-high prize. Finland’s Luka Sorainen finished as runner-up in that event for €43,950.
Two other side events also produced first-time or near-first-time major winners. Spain’s Francisco Iwan Molina won the €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Single Re-Entry, outlasting a 251-player field to collect €42,635; PokerNews noted that his Hendon Mob profile previously showed just one recorded result. The €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Seniors event drew 280 entrants and a €280,000 prize pool, with Dutch player and WSOP bracelet winner Antoine Vranken taking the title for €55,650. Ireland’s Dara O’Kearney finished fourth in the Seniors for €19,220.
Italy’s Youness Barakat rounded out the cluster of winners by defeating Japan’s Sho Homma heads-up in the €2,100 No-Limit Hold’em Hyper Turbo Freezeout, a 42-player field. PokerNews reported that the victory pushed Barakat’s lifetime earnings closer to $3.5 million. The 2026 EPT Barcelona festival is scheduled to run through August 29, with PokerNews providing live coverage from Casino Barcelona.
