Checking in the Meeting Room on the small, yet talented field to start the NL 2-7 Single Draw tournament, and found Ryan Hoenig back in the mix.
He is fresh off another win after capturing the $600 Big O tournament last night, his second trophy of the series and ninth overall.
If you were a betting person, and look where we are, Hoenig would be a good wager to win another one over the next 40+ events on the schedule. He tends to win them in bunches.
1. 2024 Showdown: $600 2-7 Triple Draw ($11,980)
2. 2024 Showdown: $600 Omaha 8 ($14,675)
3. 2024 Showdown: $600 Badugi ($10,585)
4. 2024 RRPO: $600 Triple Stud ($9,720)
5. 2025 Showdown: $600 PLO 8 ($14,520)
6. 2026 LHPO: $600 PLO 8 Six-Max ($15,200)
7. 2026 LHPO: $1,100 5-Card PLO ($22,055)

9. 2026 Showdown: $600 Big O ($15,535)
Hoenig won his first three trophies, all in the same series, two years ago. At the time, he was only the fourth person in our history to win three in a series, and they were his first.
Then another trophy during the 2024 RRPO series, and another last Showdown. Now he’s back to multiple wins per series with two more in January, and now these two.
Solid wager he adds another.
In two quick years, he quickly moved up the all-time wins list that includes some heavy hitters.
All-time wins:
Raminder Singh – 16 wins
Yuval Bronshtein – 16 wins
David Shmuel – 13 wins
Michael Newman – 12 wins
Phil Hui – 12 wins
Matt Bretzfield – 10 wins
Gabriel Ramos – 9 wins
Ryan Hoenig – 9 wins
Hal Klein – 8 wins
John Holley – 8 wins
Scott Baumstein – 8 wins
