Event 40: Jonathan Jaffe Wins! ($100,000); Harvey Castro Finishes as Runner-Up ($52,000)

$10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em
Structure
Level 37:  1,500/3,000
Players Remaining:  1 of 16

Jonathan Jaffe
Heads-Up Champion Jonathan Jaffe

Jonathan Jaffe completed the small blind to 3,000, Harvey Castro raised from the big blind to 12,000, and Jaffe called.

The flop came QsJhJd, Castro checked, Jaffe bet 6,000, and Castro check-raised to 20,000. Jaffe thought for a while before he called.

The turn card was the 3s, Castro bet 14,000, and Jaffe thought for a while before he called.

The river card double-paired the board with the 3h, and Castro moved all in for 47,400. Jaffe went into the tank.

After a while, Jaffe said, “Well, you’ve sufficiently confused me.”

Jaffe thought a little bit more before he called, and Castro showed 10s2s for a ten-high bluff to play the board. Jaffe turned over As8h to win the pot — and the heads-up title — with the two pair on the board and his ace kicker.

Congratulations to Jonathan Jaffe!
