There were 81 entries for the $600 Double Black Chip Bounty Turbo on Friday, and they reached the nine-handed final table in about 4 1/2 hours. The final table lasted another two hours or so until Greg Buonocore defeated Andre Bryan heads-up to win the title, the trophy, and $8,420.

“It feels unbelievable,” said Buonocore after his victory. “I’ve been playing for probably 15 to 20 years as a side gig, and to finally come through felt really special.”

Our turbo events usually run in the evenings, but this one was different, starting at 12:00 noon.

“I knew that, no matter what happened, the latest it would go to is 7:00 or 8:00 at night,” said Buonocore. “So I figured, let me enter this and get really aggressive at the beginning. I haven’t played in a lot of turbos, so I knew I’d either get a lot of chips or go home. And I was lucky and got a lot of chips.”

Buonocore lives in Delray Beach, Florida, and loves coming to play poker at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.

When asked about the casino, Buonocore said, “It’s fantastic. I live 30 minutes away, and I come down here as much as I possibly can to play. It’s unbelievable how they run the tournaments, and all the employees are fantastic.”
