U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took indicted poker pro Gal Yifrach into custody in Los Angeles, according to a PokerNews report published July 26, 2026. Yifrach, an Israeli citizen who PokerNews reported has long resided in the United States, was detained by ICE agents at what the outlet described as a Los Angeles-area location.
PokerNews reported that the specific reasons for Yifrach’s detention and his point of origin prior to the custody were not clear at the time of publication. The outlet said it contacted the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in California requesting further details and was awaiting a response. PokerNews also noted that Yifrach has continued to play poker while awaiting trial.
Yifrach has accumulated over $2.9 million in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob. Among his results, PokerNews reported that he won the 2025 PokerStars North American Poker Tour Main Event at Resorts World in Nevada, taking home $543,025 from a field of 405 entries in the $5,300 buy-in event. PokerNews also reported that Yifrach celebrated his 39th birthday a few days before that victory.
PokerNews reported that Yifrach became a World Series of Poker bracelet winner in 2018, taking down a $3,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em event for $461,791.
