Jessica Vierling Tops Massive Field at WSOP Circuit Main Event in Los Angeles

Congrats are in order for Jessica Vierling, a German pro who won her second World Series of Poker Circuit ring at Commerce Casino. The $1,700 Main Event brought in 1,467 entries, which shattered the $1 million guarantee by more than $1.2 million. Vierling, who makes her home in Las Vegas, took $328,273 of that, which was generated through three starting flights.

Vierling won her first WSOP Circuit ring in a $400 event at Hard Rock Tulsa in 2022 for $13,641. Her largest tourney cash before this came by finishing third in the $1,700 Choctaw Durant Main Event in 2022 for $158,286. That event also attracted a humongous field of 1,411. Her second ring puts her over the $1 million lifetime tourney poker cash mark.

With the victory, Vierling earned an entry into the WSOP Tournament of Champions, a $1 million freeroll open to all of last season’s bracelet and Circuit winners. The event takes place at the Commerce starting tomorrow.

A former project manager for Amazon.com, Vierling has made a living playing poker since 2021.

She had to beat Christian Roberts, who won his first WSOP bracelet in the $500 Summer Saver event last year for $154,359. This was his biggest cash to date. He added $218,807 to his stack.

Australia’s Cooper Feltham also scored his biggest cash for a third-place finish. He won $56,000 and a ring in a WSOP Circuit event in Australia last November. He nearly tripled that here with a $154,959 cash.

James Pilpa also achieved a lifetime best for finishing fourth for $111,325.

Stephen Sharrah broke the $100,000 lifetime cash mark by taking $81,148 out of the kitty here for fifth. It was also his lifetime best.

Amit Shah’s second lifetime cash came at Commerce, so of course the $60,029 for finishing sixth is his largest.

Ed Pak broke the $200,000 mark with his seventh-place finish, which was good for $45,076. He scored his best in a third-place finish at the Winnin’ O the Green last March just across town at Bell Gardens. It was good for $61,705.

With $2.8 million in lifetime earnings, Jared Greiner was looking to double his WSOP ring collection. He added $34,385 to his stack for bowing out in eighth.

Johnny Bromberg and his one WSOP Circuit ring wound up in ninth for $26,607. He scored a lifetime best by winning $219,096 in a $400 event at the Seminole Hard Rock Open last July.

This was the last WSOP Circuit event of the 2023/24 season, which general runs from May to May. All future WSOP events, including all the contests at the 55th version of the WSOP that starts next week, are considered part of the 2024/25 season.
