German native Julian Selinger completed a remarkable heads-up comeback to claim the 2026 WSOP Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event at the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel and Olympic Park Casino in Estonia, according to PokerNews. Selinger defeated Dutchman Roy van der Reijnst after a four-hour heads-up battle to take the title, a WSOP Circuit Main Event ring, and a top prize of €210,000.
PokerNews reported that the event drew a record-breaking 977 entries, generating a prize pool of €1,253,002. Selinger opened the final table by eliminating Feras Abid in ninth place before running into trouble mid-final table, where PokerNews reported he became the shortest stack with six players remaining after doubling two opponents in quick succession. The full final table results listed Kai Lehto third, David Marfil fourth, Egidijus Matonis fifth, Fehim Hajdari sixth, Valentin Imperatore seventh, and Mateusz Dabkowski eighth, according to PokerNews.
The heads-up match began with even stacks, per PokerNews, but swung sharply in van der Reijnst’s favor when a major hand left Selinger with just three big blinds. Selinger then won three consecutive all-ins to regain the chip lead before closing out the match when van der Reijnst called with two pair and Selinger tabled a rivered straight, according to PokerNews.
PokerNews also reported a poignant subplot surrounding van der Reijnst, who was emotional after the final hand. According to PokerNews, van der Reijnst had lost his son Joris at birth in May 2026, and had discovered an electronic candle in his coat pocket on Day 2 of the tournament, which he used as a card protector throughout the remainder of the event.
In addition to the €210,000 first-place prize and the Circuit ring, Selinger also received a $5,000 package to WSOP Paradise, according to PokerNews.
