Circle your calendars and get ready for exciting poker action this autumn at one of the most beautiful poker destinations in Europe, as the Malta Poker Festival returns for its Autumn 2024 iteration! Running from October 26 – November 4, the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Autumn edition will bring with a lot of hype, along with big guarantees, fun hosts, and many off-the-felt activities to keep players entertained.
Highlighting the festival is certainly the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event, but there will be much more happening at the Portomaso Casino this autumn, with free tickets up for grabs to the PokerStars Women’s Winter Festival, a Super High Roller event hosted by Lukas Robinson, and the first-ever Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty tournament.
Big Prizes up for Grabs
The 2024 Malta Festival Main Event will be a multi-day affair featuring a buy-in of €550. There will be six starting day flights between October 27 and November 2, with those registering for Day 1A on October 27 getting a special early-bird entry price of just €400.
“Our $400 discounted flight is a unique benefit we offer to local players. Being local should come with advantages, including reduced expenses and an exclusive discounted flight during the weekend, prior to the arrival of visiting players,” said Malta Poker Festival Founder Ivonne Montealegre. “We want to encourage early start, so players can enjoy all the tournaments. The sooner you bag for Day 2, the more events you can participate in” she added.
The €500,000 guarantee makes this event particularly attractive, and those who don’t quite have a bankroll to buy in directly can try their luck at snagging a seat with €65 Milestone Satellites running around the clock.
In Milestone Satellites, you need to run up your stack to a certain number to get a ticket. For the Malta Poker Festival’s Main Event satellites, players will start with 15,000 in chips, and when they reach 150,000, they’ll automatically receive their ticket, and their chips will be removed from play.
The popular Mystery Bounty format will be making another appearance at the Malta Poker Festival, with the €230 Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty event. In addition to regular bounties players will receive for knocking out their competitors, there will also be a €3,700 package to the Mediterranean Poker Party in Cyprus added to the mix.
Special Treats for the Ladies
Female poker players who make their way to Malta this autumn have a special treat to look forward to. The €200 Ladies First event hosted by PokerStars Ambassador Kerryjane Craigie will feature a €10,000 guarantee and one package to the PokerStars Women’s Winter Festival Main Event.
The 2024 Women’s Festival takes place at London’s legendary Hippodrome Casino late in November this year, and the Main Event boasts a generous guarantee of £100,000, which will likely be shattered.
PokerStars is proud to support the Women’s Winter Festival in London this November.
There’s a £400 buy-in Main Event with £100K Gtd!

In addition to this, there will be a special satellite to that Main Event, featuring 10 £400 seats added to the mix. The buy-in is just €60, and with so many seats added, this is one qualifier no lady should miss if the have an interest in making their way to London in November.
Streaming Superstar Lukas Robinson in the House
It’s been a tradition at the Malta Poker Festival that many events are officially hosted by players or poker personalities, and this tradition continues in 2024.
One such player and personality making an appearance at the Portomaso Casino will be PokerNews Ambassador Lukas Robinson, the man who holds the TwitchTV record for streaming 1,000 hours in 100 days without taking a single day off. While his streaming exploits have gained Robinson a sizeable audience of fans tuning in to his online poker sessions, Robinson is perhaps arguably best known for his appearance on the hit poker show Game of Gold.
Robinson will be hosting the €2,500 Super High Roller event on November 3 – 4, which is the most expensive tournament of the 2024 Autumn Malta Poker Festival.
Plenty More Action on the Docket
These are just some of the highlights of the 2024 Malta Poker Festival, but there is much more to look forward to, regardless of what your particular bankroll or game preferences might be.
On Tuesday, October 29, there is the Sviten Special event, which will be hosted by Eva ‘Chic’ Jiretorn. This is a unique mixed game split pot poker variation — similar to Drawmaha — that enjoys a lot of popularity in Scandinavian countries. Although it may take you a moment to figure out all the rules, once you do, this a very exciting game that you just might fall in love with.
If you’re into more traditional mixed game options, make sure to check out the €230 HORSE event on October 30, which will be hosted by Jon Kyte.
While the discussion about proper apparel and wearing masks and shades at a poker table remains ongoing, all such concerns will be put aside on the evening of October 31 during the Malta Poker Festival Halloween Special Edition. Players are not just encouraged to come wearing the most imaginative costumes they can come up with, but there is even a special prize for the best one!
A Word From Malta Poker Festival Founder Ivonne Montealegre
Commenting on all the “extras” added throughout the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Autumn schedule, Montealegre noted that “We have worked very hard on this schedule, listening to players’ requests and navigating a busy autumn on the island. Portomaso and I want to emphasize that this tournament is for all of YOU, the players. The support from operators such as Luxon Pay and PokerStars truly enhances the experience, as are the satellites with added seats. There’s value everywhere and surprises at every turn. We love our MPF community and hope to create a wonderful poker holiday for all.”
On a practical and topical note, to help players interested in attending save some money on travel and accommodation costs, Montealegre added that “I encourage players to purchase their airfare soon to avoid disappointment, as rates are expected to increase dramatically in the coming weeks.”
All in all, the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Autumn edition promises plenty of action, big prizes, and heaps of fun in the Mediterranean sun – all at very affordable prices. So, clear your schedule and get ready for one more poker trip before the winter sets in!
