Poker Dream Vietnam Main Event History
In October 2022, the first Poker Dream Main Event in Hoi An attracted a total of 822 entries for a prize pool of VN₫ 17,940,150,000 and Poker Dream founder Winfred Yu finished in third place, only beaten by Minh Anh Nguyen and Brandon Koh.
One year later, the buy-in was a more moderate VN₫ 8.5 Million and the field size soared to 1,351 entries. The final three players agreed to an ICM deal and shared the biggest portion of the VN₫ 20,739,945,500 prize pool. Thi Bao Nguyen became the first female Poker Dream Main Event champion and earned an ICM deal payout of VN₫ 2,344,965,500 for her efforts (~USD $96,409), while third-placed Duc Anh Nguyen (VN₫ 2,561,000,000) and Jean-Mathieu Malouch (VN₫ 2,830,000,000) earned even bigger cash prizes but came up short of the golden dragon trophy.
Poker Dream 10 Vietnam – Super High Roller
A large prize pool can also be expected from the most expensive tournament on the schedule, the VN₫ 180 Million (~USD 7,753) Super High Roller. The 2022 edition brought with it a field of 92 entries at an elevated buy-in of VN₫ 230 Million, resulting in a VN₫ 19,699,960,000 prize pool (~USD $807,415). None other than Indonesia’s John Juanda topped it all for VN₫ 6 Billion ~USD $245,807).
Whether or not three digits will be reached in the most expensive tournament of the stop remains to be seen. The Poker Dream team recently added packages for the event and the first batch limited to the first 20 sign-ups already sold out with Batch number two now available. High Rollers can save up to VN₫ 22.5 Million (~USD $900) and will receive five free nights of accommodation at the New World Hoiana Beach Resort Hotel, breakfast for two people as well as airport transfers.
