Another rich edition of Poker Dream concluded at New World Hoiana in Hoi An, Vietnam with 23 champions awarded and over VN₫ 52 Billion (~USD 2.08M) paid out across seven days of games. Running from April 29 to May 5, 2024, it was a thrill from start to finish featuring the unveiling of its fresh logo, the presentation of striking new trophies, and a celebration to mark the brand’s second anniversary, all of this added to the intense poker action. Nishant Sharma wins the Main Event
India brings one of the largest international contingents at every Poker Dream series and for the second time, one of its own outshined. While most players usually head home after falling on the bubble, Nishant Sharma delivered an incredible comeback, jumping in the last flight of the Main Event then turning it to gold.
“It’s very unreal. I was literally going home after getting bubbled but then I saw there were just three minutes left in the last flight of the Main Event, the Hyper Turbo. So I thought to myself I was playing good so why not. Let’s give one more try. And for some reason I’ve always been lucky at the fourth bullet.”
From bubble to champion, Nishant Sharma wins Poker Dream Main Event in Vietnam
This was Sharma’s career first Main Event live title, outlasting the 752 entry field. He earned the largest portion of the prize pool on a heads up ICM deal, walking away with VN₫ 3,756,953,000 (~USD 147,720).
The Poker Dream 10 Vietnam Main Event opened with a guarantee matching its previous edition prize pool in the coutnry of VN₫ 20 Billion and edged just past it to set a new brand record in Vietnam of VN₫ 21,685,320,000 (~USD 852,670).
Wong Ka Fai walks away as biggest earner
The Super High Roller event was a hot one on the menu with 95 entries drawn for a prize pool of VN₫ 15,260,040,000 (~USD 602,090). Locking up the top prize was Hong Kong’s Wong Ka Fai for a career high payout of VN₫ 4,052,040,000 (~USD 159,781). Wong denied fellow countryman / Poker Dream founder Winfred Yu a second series title.

While this huge takedown secured Wong the largest paycheck of the series, he cashed at three more events for total earnings of VN₫ 4,207,240,000 (~USD 161,950),
Winfred Yu from presentation to champion
Speaking of Poker Dream founder Winfred Yu, after delivering a welcome speech on opening day where he unveiled the new logo and new trophies, Yu went on to win the High Roller Warm Up opening event to become the first owner of the new Poker Dream High Roller Dragon Trophy.
Several days later, Yu nearly landed a second trophy, finishing runner up to Wong Ka Fai at the Super High Roller. To close out his strong run, on the final day, Yu placed 5th at the Mystery Hunter High Roller to collect a combined payout of over VN₫ 3.9 Billion (~USD 153,780) making him the second largest earner.
Duy Ho bags back-to-back events
Only one player was able to achieve the difficult task of winning two events. It was none other than USA’s Duy Ho who has accomplished this a prior festivals in the country. Ho first won the Short Deck Ante Only then returned the second day on fire, taking down the 10M NLH. Ho also cashed at three other events.
Hong Kong wins 5 events including HR Teams Event
Hong Kong captured the most trophies after taking down five events. It was actually eight trophies with an all Hong Kong team winning the High Roller Teams Event.
