There were 4,783 entries in Event #1, the multi-flight $400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em, and after a five-and-a-half-hour heads-up battle on Monday night, Sebastian Toro Henao defeated Alejandro Exposito to win the title, the trophy, and $201,030.
Sebastian Toro Henao took the lead late on Day 2, and when Day 3 started with 20 players remaining, Henao had 155 big blinds. Henao cruised to the final table with more than double the average stack, and stayed above 100 big blinds all the way to heads-up play.
It only took two hours to drop from nine players to the final two, and when heads-up play began, Henao had 185 big blinds to Exposito’s 134 big blinds. And with one-hour levels, it was clear heads-up play could last a while.
Within the first hour, Exposito battled his way into the lead, but they were still both above 150 big blinds. And that began a back-and-forth that lasted for more than five hours, with both players building up leads of 2-to-1 and 3-to-1.
Eventually, Henao knocked Exposito down below 20 big blinds, and in the final hand, Exposito had
