Building on the tremendous success of its previous editions, the upcoming Taiwan Millions Tournament – TMT 16 is set to be the biggest one yet. Scheduled from July 11 to 29, 2024 at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City, this beloved low-tiered festival boasts NTD 50 Million in guarantees, equivalent to over USD 1.5 Million, spread across nineteen days of play.
Among the vast lineup, the Main Event stands out with a record-breaking NTD 31 Million (~USD 1,000,000) guaranteed prize pool, making it the must-attend highlight of the tournament. Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store.

Launched in 2017, the Taiwan Millions Tournament is a homegrown festival by the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP). Starting out with a modest 311 Main Event entries, the event now attracts thousands with the field packed mostly by locals. This edition looks to bring more diversity and boost the numbers simultaneously with overseas qualifiers in the works.
Of course the main drawing power of TMT has always been its varied schedule and affordable buy-ins. With 45 events in the lineup plus 17 Daily Tournaments, it is nonstop poker everyday.

Breaking down the immense schedule, buy ins range from the lowest Daily Tournament of NTD 1,500 (~USD 46) to the Super High Roller height of NTD 53,000 (~USD 1,636).

As highlighted above, this edition’s Main Event is going for the gold with an ambitious NTD 31,000,000 (~USD 1 Million) guarantee. This sets a new record, surpassing the current high of NTD 25.3 Million. The buy-in has also been raised slightly but remains an affordable NTD 9,000 (~USD 280).

Mini Main Dreamer
The Mini Main Dreamer is a new event that’s bound to pack the house with the champion guaranteed to take home NTD 1,000,000 (~USD 30,870)! This is incredibly generous considering the event’s prize pool is guaranteed at NTD 3,000,000 (~USD 92,600).

Custom Events
Five events fall under this category. To kick off TMT 16, players are invited to a Freeroll where 10 tickets to the TMT Kick-Off will be awarded. Days later, two dedicated events are scheduled – Poker Queen for women and 50+ for players aged 50 and above.
For the third consecutive edition, the schedule offers a Heads Up tournament. Players can expect to see back-to-back champion Yi Wei Peng return to defend his title.
As an avid promoter of the sport, CTP hosts poker workshops for college students that a special event called Intercollegiate Cup has been included. More details to follow.
