In just over a month (May 27, to be exact), the poker world will descend on the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for the 2025 World Series of Poker. The 2025 WSOP will hold its $10,000 Championship Event (the “Main Event”) from July 2 through July 16, and a Florida poker room is looking to send players to poker’s biggest tournament. The twist? It is not one of the Seminole poker rooms that is putting up the prizes, but The Casino at Dania Beach.
Casino at Dania Beach Offering Main Event Packages
They began the promotion at the beginning of the month, but The Casino at Dania Beach (more on this in a moment) is looking to send two of its best poker players to the 2025 WSOP Main Event by offering a package that any poker player would love. The two $12,500 prizes, which would cover entry into the Main Event and $2500 for travel and hotel expenses, are completely backed by The Casino at Dania Beach and are not dependent on players’ entry fees generating the prizes. They are completely funded by The Casino at Dania Beach, offering players something extra for their efforts.
Players will have to do a bit of work to earn the prizes, however. Players will have to use their Player Card to register for multi-table tournaments on any Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday between now and May 26. These tournaments themselves have guaranteed prize pools, ranging from $5000 to $20,000, during the duration of the promotion.
From there, it is pretty simple: let your finishes speak for themselves. The top two players earning the most prize money from these tournaments will be rewarded with the packages to the 2025 WSOP Main Event (in the event of a tie, the player with the most tournaments entered will be the tiebreaker). The winners will also receive a SWAG bag of patches, shirts, and jackets that the players can wear while they represent The Casino at Dania Beach at the 2025 WSOP.
A History of Gaming Excellence
You might be saying to yourself, “Yourself, how is this legal in the state of Florida” The Sunshine State is essentially a casino monopoly for the Seminole Tribe (not so much for poker, though), but some areas that featured casino gaming previously were grandfathered in. Thus, The Casino at Dania Beach remains viable because it existed before the Seminoles negotiated their compacts with the Florida government.
In the case of The Casino at Dania Beach, that history stretches back to right after World War II. The Casino at Dania Beach originally offered its patrons wagering on jai alai, the fascinating activity called the fastest ball sport on Earth (a thrown pelota reached 190 MPH at the Dania Beach fronton, or arena, in 2017). Since it opened in 1953, the operation offered not only jai alai but also full casino functions, which catered to the Miami market. The Casino at Dania Beach had to be allowed even after the Seminole Tribe negotiated their first compact that granted Florida’s casino gaming rights to them in 2010.
Since that time, The Casino at Dania Beach has only improved its offerings. Although a full jai alai schedule ended on the property last fall, the casino is filled with more than 900 gaming machines, a sportsbook and simulcast parlor, and a twenty-four-table poker room. If gaming isn’t your thing, excellent dining and entertainment options are available, with their Stage 954 featuring concerts from all genres of music. Most recently, the Eighties rockers Vixen took to the stage and, on May 10, L.A. Guns are scheduled to perform.
Poker is the thing that is calling right now, however. Visit The Casino at Dania Beach’s Poker Room page to learn more about the promotion and all the action that is going on off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in sunny Southeast Florida!
