Winamax Signs Gus Hansen as Brand Ambassador

Winamax has added to its team by appointing Gus Hansen as its brand ambassador. Winamax broke the news in a short video on its French and Spanish social media channels, while Hansen announced this partnership on Instagram.

This superb recruitment will undoubtedly evoke memories and nostalgia while increasing Winamax’s global influence.

Hansen stood out as one of the most prominent and thrilling players to rise during the poker boom era of the 2000s.

When you look at his Hendon Mob stats, it becomes clear that his initial three tournament outcomes were remarkable. Not only did he secure victories in all three, but his earnings from just the first two results exceeded an impressive $1 million.

Over the years, he has accumulated over $10 million in tournament winnings, securing third place in the Denmark all-time money list. However, his success seemed to dwindle a decade ago. He has only achieved one tournament result in the past ten years: cracking the top 700 in the WSOP Main Event five years ago.

The partnership with Winamax is no coincidence. Gus Hansen has been less visible in recent years and now finds fulfillment as a devoted family man. Last year, though, Hansen participated in the WPT World Championship held at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Trying to Make a Comeback

Hansen is passionate about making a comeback and achieving success in a fresh phase of his professional journey next week. He has officially announced his participation in the European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
He will now be sporting the brand of his new sponsor, Winamax, instead of the Full Tilt patch that older viewers may be more familiar with. Hansen was a well-known figure on Team Full Tilt during that time, gaining attention for accumulating significant online losses on the site, totalling over $20m from 2007-14.

However, he now believes the moment is perfect for a triumphant comeback to tournament poker by participating in one of the year’s most prestigious events. Hansen previously resided in Monaco, so he eagerly anticipates EPT Monte Carlo as a homecoming.

Hansen becomes a part of Team Winamax, which boasts an impressive roster of players such as Davidi Kitai, Mustapha Kanit, Adrián Mateos, and Gaëlle Baumann.
