World Series of Poker Europe Returns to King’s Resort in September

Save the dates: The World Series of Poker is set to return to King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic for the 15th version of its series in Europe. Running from Sept. 18 to Oct. 6, 15 bracelets will be won in tourneys with guarantees totaling $15 million.

The €10,350 Main Event starts Oct. 4. Last year’s Main Event champion, Max Neugebauer, won €1.5 million for being the last of a record-breaking field of 817 entrants. In fact, the attendance record of the Main Event has increased each year since 2017, when 529 entries were collected.

Look for GGPoker to begin holding satellites to WSOPE after sending people to the WSOP in Las Vegas next month.

Beginning in 2007 at the Empire Casino in London, it moved to Majestic Barrière Cannes and the Le Croisette Casino Barrière with seven bracelet events in 2011. The Series has taken place at King’s Resort since 2017.

It was not held in 2014, 2016 and 2020.

Winners of the WSOPE Main Events include Phil Hellmuth in 2012, John Juanda in 2008, CardPlayer Magazine owner Barry Sculman in 2009 (he beat Daniel Negreanu heads-up), Adrian Mateos in 2013, and the youngest bracelet winner at the time, Annete Obrestad, who won the inaugural Main Event bracelet in 2007 one day before her 19th birthday.

All the bracelet winners will be qualified to play in next’s year’s $1 million WSOP Tournament of Champions.
