Within minutes, short stacked Loo Junzhong from Malaysia doubled up off big stacked Hinrichsen with 6d6c staying ahead of Ah3c. The pair met again and this time it was Hinrichsen avoiding the rail with 9d9s set over AcQd top pair on a board 9s10sAs7h5h. Down to crumbs, Loo was eliminated in 6th place by Joseph Sandaev.

Following Loo out was India’s Vishal Ojha who was on his second final table in this series. Holding Ac8h against Kim’s Ah8d, Ojha went down on a one card flush with the board running 9d2d4d7dJs.

From here on, Kim took charge. He eliminated short stacked Quan Qiu next in 4th place to enter three-handed against the Australians Sandaev and Hinrichsen with nearly half of the chips in play. The Aussies went head to head in a hand that doubled up Sandaev while Hinrichsen dropped to 15 bb. Kim collected the rest, loose-calling Hinrichsen’s three-bet shove with 5h4h that paired the five to dust Ad8s.

Joseph Sandaev versus Dong Hyup Kim

This kicked off heads up with both players very deep and average at 50 bb. It didn’t take long for Sandaev to grind to par but still could not get past the more aggressive Kim. The defining hand was felted which saw a board run KdKh7c6dKc. Kim barreled every street and Sandaev called it down. Kim revealed Ks2d quads and sent Sandaev plunging from which he couldn’t recover. The final hand was Sandaev QsQd, Kim AdQh, board was 2d9h2cAh10d, spiking the victory card on the turn.
