Counting down to seven months away, the World Poker Tour World Championship will once again set foot at the entertainment capital for its 3rd annual running, traditionally closing its 2024 season in style. Asian players who have the anticipated festival penned on their poker calendars will be glad to know that WPT is offering its regional player pool several chances to secure top value packages via its WPT Passport series route. The first of which, WPT Vietnam Passport to the World Championship is set to kick off in two weeks, running from May 17 to 24, 2024 at Crown Poker Club, Hanoi.
WPT Vietnam Passport to the World Championship – Schedule
Runners joining the action will be met with a busy 63 trophy lineup, boasting over VN₫ 50 Billion (~USD 2 Million) in guarantees, and a whopping 10 packages to the WPT World Championship to be awarded. The comprehensive schedule sees a huge boost in offerings in comparison to its previous season which hosted only 32 events over the course of 11 days. Nonetheless, the earlier festival awarded over ₫74 Billion (~USD 3M) in prizes after 4,448 entries were recorded throughout the games. Judging from the results, the fast approaching WPT Vietnam Passport to the World Championship will likely surpass these numbers and emerge to be another festival to remember.
Following suit later in July is another round of WPT Passport festivities, slated to run at NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in association with Connaissance Management Limited. A full 41-event lineup has been unveiled, circled around the $500,000 guaranteed WPT Cambodia Championship Event.
WPT Vietnam Championship Event – Package to World Championship
With a number of events running daily, the star of the show remains to be the VN₫ 15 Billion (~USD 600,700) guaranteed WPT Vietnam Championship Event with a buy-in set at VN₫ 30,000,000 (~USD 1,200). Last October’s games welcomed a staggering 850-entry field which saw its prize pool swell to ₫22,426,400,000 (~916,300). Thai recreational player Sorawit Suriyakarn locked in the victory and banked a career high payout of ₫3,856,400,000 (~$157,565) along with a WPT World Championship package valued at USD 12,150. This season’s Championship Event will run similarly, awarding a $10,400 World Championship entry + 7 Nights accommodation in addition to the top prize. Three starting flights are set to play through with registration open for the first 9 levels. Each entry buys players a starting stack of 40,000 to course through 40 minute blind levels for all Day 1’s, followed with an extended 60 minute duration by the start of Day 2. Together with the juicy cash prizes to be won, the battle for a podium finish sees the 2nd and 3rd place winners secure a $1,100 WPT Prime Championship entry + 7 nights accommodation.

On the tail end of the schedule runs a two-day High Roller Event hoisting a VN₫ 4 Billion (~USD 160.2K) guarantee from May 26-27. For a steeper buy in of VN₫ 66 Million (~USD 2,640), festival runners can secure another chance to claim a WPT World Championship package allotted for the eventual champion.
