2026 LHPO in Review

2026 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Champion Giuseppe Iadisernia with Tony Dunst, Seminole Hard Rock Tournament Manager Jason Heidenthal, Flooman David “Country” Roberts, and WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage

We kicked off the new year with the 2026 Lucky Hearts Poker Open, running from January 6 through January 21 with 57 trophy events, more than $7.25 million in guarantees, and tons of friends playing in the Grand Ballroom.

Events: 57
Entries: 13,555
Guarantees: $7,360,000
Prize Pools: $12,328,975

We attracted more than 10,000 entries and awarded more than $10,000,000 for the 21st consecutive series, dating all the way back to the 2011 Poker Showdown. We couldn’t do it without you.

There were plenty of great stories from our players, including a fun WPT LHPO Championship field and final table.

Giuseppe Iadisernia finished second in the $25K High Roller and immediately entered Flight A of the Championship, bagging the chip lead at the end of the day. That was the start of Iadisernia’s great run, which ended with him taking the title for $611,700 and putting his name on the WPT Mike Sexton Champions Cup.

Thomas Boivin

Thomas Boivin won that $25K High Roller title, Anatoly Nikitin finished third, and both went on to make the Championship final table, with Boivin going out in third and Nikitin in fifth.

Martins Adeniya

Finally, Martins Adeniya was the defending LHPO Champion after he finished in the top spot over 1,225 entries in 2025. This year, he made the final table once again and finished fourth out of 1,229 entries.

Remarkable feats from each.

Michael Tarafara bookended his series by winning The Opener to start his LHPO and ending his series with a win in The Closer. Ryan Hoenig and Joseph Olivieri also took home two LHPO trophies this year, with Hoenig picking up his seventh career major SHRP title and and Oliveiri his sixth.

Benjamin Moschel won the $1,100 Platinum Stack a few days after his twin brother, Jonathan, won the $400 Limit Omaha 8. Justin Datloff booked a $232,848 payout for winning the $600 Deep Stack and 2022 WPT LHPO champ Alex Yen captured our first-ever $2,200 Progressive Bounty title.

We also had some adjustments to our all-time wins lists. First up, Yuval Bronshtein won the $400 Double Board Bomb Pot PLO for his 16th career SHRP title and went to the top of the ranks. Then Raminder Singh said, “Not so fast,” and won the $400 Black Chip Bounty NLH/PLO Mix for his 16th.

We are tied at the top once again.

Raminder Singh  –  16 wins
Yuval Bronshtein  –  16 wins
David Shmuel  –  12 wins
Michael Newman  –  12 wins
Phil Hui  –  12 wins
Matt Bretzfield  –  10 wins
Gabriel Ramos  –  9 wins
Hal Klein  –  8 wins
John Holley  –  8 wins
Scott Baumstein  –  8 wins

Finally, a historical stat that many people helped make, including a few in the last two weeks. Since the 2011 Poker Showdown, more than 100 players have now won three or more major SHRP events.

Our players are do amazing things.

Thanks again to everyone for coming out and making the series a success. We look forward to seeing everyone back for the 2026 Poker Showdown from April 9 to April 28!
