Tourist Guide To WPT Cambodia
As we count down the days until opening, one of the ways to ensure a smooth trip is to secure your visa ahead of time. Cambodia customs has now transitioned to online. All international players entering the country by land, air, or sea are required to secure their visa via the Cambodia E-Arrival site. Signing up is easy and can be submitted as early as one week prior to arrival. For visa-exempt nations, this is also required.
Once you get through immigration, there are several money exchange kiosks that offer reasonable rates. Officially, the Cambodia currency is the Riel however the US Dollar is also widely used. If you need a SIM card, we suggest buying it at the airport as it is difficult to find elsewhere.
When you’ve finally made your way outside, heading to the venue is easy. We recommend taking Grab or metered taxi. For big groups, you can book a van at one of the airport kiosks. The ride to and from the venue should take around 15-35 minutes depending on the time of day. If you are okay with the heat, give the tuk-tuk a try, they are three-wheeled vehicles and are super cheap.
For players needing accommodations, look no further than NagaWorld with two towers to choose from. Special player rates are available for as low as $55/night! NagaWorld is a multi-award winning world class facility and is the only premium hotel in the city.

All About NagaWorld
On game day, the festival takes place at the grand ballroom located on the 2nd floor of NagaWorld 1. It should be easy to find with signs posted all over the lobby and casino halls. Once there, head to the registration area, sign up, and head on over to the felt.
While English is the language at the festival, the most widely spoken language of Cambodia is Khmer. When speaking to the locals outside of the venue, it is best to have internet access to help communicate via translator.
We do suggest to set aside time to explore the city. Phnom Penh has plenty of historical architecture to sightsee along with museums and pagodas. A couple of main attractions are the Royal Palace and Independence Museum. With the city situated along the Mekong River, taking a ferry is also fun.
Aside from tourist spots, the city has plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, a must are the night markets. Once the sun goes down, night markets come to life and are great way to try to local cuisine for cheap. If you seek nightlife, there is no shortage of bars and clubs scattered all over the city and along the boulevard by the river.
