The Mid-Stakes Poker Tour is rolling to the end of a busy and well-packed year with a $300,000 guaranteed event in Iowa this week. Satellites for the $1,110 Main Event that begins on Halloween have already started, and the first events of the series began yesterday.
Like all MSPT, players will get into the Main Event for as little as $70. Satellites have been running since Oct. 13. It’s one of the reasons this tour is so damn successful and cool. They already put 23 series in the rearview mirror, with six more in 2024.
The series at Riverside Casino and Golf Course includes five trophy events from now until Nov. 3. Players who win trophy events get a nice, well, trophy of the Smiling Spade and their picture on MSPT’s website.
The Bike follows
The name Bell Gardens always made me smile. The home of Parkwest Bicycle Casino — with more than 60 tables, one of the biggest rooms on the planet — is the next stop after Iowa. The Bike will host the MSPT Nov. 5 to 10, with the $500,000 guaranteed Main Event on Nov. 7.
But it’s truly just the tip of the iceberg for this series, as the Mini Mega Millions is also part of the slate. It’s a $380 buy-in event with $1 million guaranteed prize pool. It gets there through 15 starting flights that started yesterday and continues until Sunday, Nov. 3.
It’s all part of Big Poker October, and holy cow, a series was never named so appropriately. Check out what is going on here.
Chi-town after
From Nov. 19 to 24, the MSPT will be at Ameristar Casino Hotel in East Chicago, Ind. with 11 trophy events. Some of the highlights include a two-day $400 Monster Stack that opens the series, a $200 Ultimate Stack on Nov. 23, a $250 Black Chip Bounty on the last day, and the series headliner, the $1,110 MSPT Main Event, the first of three starting flights begin on Nov. 21. It has a prize pool guarantee of $300,000.

The rest of 2024
December is a busy month for the MSPT with three stops. It opens the month in Las Vegas at the Venetian with its $1,110 Main Event Dec. 1-4 ($300,000 guarantee). It’s part of the Venetians’ DeepStack Extravaganza IV series, which runs from Nov. 25 to Christmas Eve.
It’s loaded with 62 events. Click here to view full schedule.
After Las Vegas, the MSPT works its way back east, starting at Hollywood Casino in St. Louis Dec. 3 to 8, with nine trophy events, starting with a $250 Monster Stack Turbo. The $300 Seniors event takes place Dec. 4, while the first of the three starting flights of the $300,000 guaranteed $1,110 Main Event begin Dec. 5.
Overlapping with the series in St. Louis is the last MSPT series in 2024 in Columbus, Ohio — and with 20 trophy events, it’s a big one. It’s all part of the Winter Poker Classic at Hollywood Casino Columbus. The full schedule is loaded with fan favorites and satellites into the $1,110 Main Event and its half-million dollar guarantee. The first of the three starting days begins Dec. 15.
If you can’t make it to any of these events, don’t worry — the season continues with 10 more series in the first three months of 2025. That includes another one at the Venetian, and also trips to Black Hawk Colo., Milwaukee, Wis., and San Diego, Calif.
