Scott Seiver Wins an Incredible Three WSOP Bracelets in One Month

Scott Seiver has completed an unbelievable trio of bracelet wins in less than one month after taking down the  $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship .

He arrived at Las Vegas as an already impressive four-time winner who had the respect of his peers. Now, only six players in history have won more than him.

And what a tournament to make this achievement. Event #72: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship saw 186 entries building a prize pool of $1,729,800 and there were plenty of big names in the mix.

Final Action

Only nine players returned for Day 3, with David Lin leading the field towards a seven-handed final table.

Jason Mericer and Robert Mizrachi were the unlucky participants who left the playing hall after less than one hour’s play.

Aaron Kupin left soon after, probably happy with the extra two pay jumps he made after starting the day as the shorty.

Then there was a long wait for the next elimination as Tom Watson cursed a protracted dose of run-bad to leave in sixth place.

At one point he looked as if he was the favourite to win the event.

Hall of Famer Jen Harman was challenging for her first WSOP win in over two decades, but a three-way all-in against Seiver and Krela ended her run.

Over the next 10 minutes, Jeremy Ausmus and David Lin made their way to the exit and the final two composed themselves for the championship battle.

Heads-up play began with Seiver and Jonathan Krela sitting with 50 big blinds and we all expected this to be a protracted battle.

But with heads-up being what it is, after only 15 minutes Seiver sealed the win with a great call when his opponent was all-in.

Krela looked despondent after the hand was over, milling around while staring at the bracelet that was about to be awarded to Scott Seiver.

During the presentation, Seiver said:

“I feel very satisfied right now. I can’t really describe it. I’m like on Cloud Nine right now. This just means so much to me, and it also is a step in a personal journey I’ve made for myself where I’ve had a eye in the sky dream where I want to win one bracelet in every single discipline there is.”

There is now much chatter about Seiver being the natural candidate for entry into the Poker Hall of Fame when he turns 40 next year.
