USOP Main Event from Past to Present
In 2023, USOP emerged into live scene, staging its first event in Taipei City, Taiwan. With a modest buy in, the crowd followed to generate an impressive 1,043 entries. Filipino Edwin Dela Cruz emerged victorious, becoming the first ever USOP champion in Asia and earned a substantial NTD 3,060,000 (~US$ 100,800) payout.
Following his victory, the next three USOP events were held in Vietnam – two in Hanoi and the season finale in Danang. Again, the turnout was tremendous resulting in six figure winner prizes and seven figure USD prize pools.
The USOP Vietnam Main Event drew 851 entries for a prize pool of VN₫ 16,509,400,000 (~US$ 702,680). Vietnam’s Nguyen Ngoc Dai won it for VN₫ 3,550,000,000 (~US$ 151,100). Five months later, the Main Event set a new record prize pool of VN₫ 29,158,200,000 (~US$ 1,212,000), the first seven figure USD by the brand. India’s Vishal Ojha was crowned champion and pocketed a massive VN₫ 4,952,000,000 (~US$ 205,840).
Closing out the year in Danang, the Main Event upped the stakes again, setting a new brand record prize pool of VN₫ 34,801,800,000 (~$1,434,000). Singapore’s The Naing shipped it for a career high VN₫ 4,979,000,000 (~$205,100). This was just slightly lower than Ojha’s score.

Tourist info
For incoming international players, unless your country is on the visa-free list, make sure to secure your visa. Just apply online and choose between single entry or multiple and do this early as there have been news of tourists being rejected entry due to lack of visa and requirements.
Upon arrival, book a Grab to the city via the app. Make sure to use the app for the fairest rates and to avoid having challenges with other taxi drivers. Language could be a barrier as most locals only speak their native tongue.
Internet may be spotty around town that a Vietnam sim card may be necessary. Get this at the airport as they are very hard to find in the city. Sim cards are very cheap, around $7-$10 for unlimited data depending on the plan you choose.
The country currency is the Vietnamese Dong and it is the only form of cash accepted. There are exchange counters at the airport. You can also exchange at the poker venue.
