World Series of Poker Circuit Series Restarts with a Bang in January

After a few weeks off, the World Series of Poker Circuit series starts the new year with a very busy January with four stops in Oklahoma, California, Mississippi, and Florida. It’s the beginning of the second act of the 2024/25 Circuit season, which runs until May.

Doing it in Durant

Starting on Monday, Jan. 6, the WSOP Circuit series once again sets up camp at Choctaw Durant. It kicks-off the festival with a two-flight $250 seniors event that boasts a $75,000 prize pool guarantee. It’s the first of 18 events that run until Jan. 19.

The $1 million $1,700 buy-in Main Event begins Jan. 17, with the first of its two starting flights. The series has two additional tourneys with significant guarantees — the $1,000 Monster Stack event carries a $100,000 (Jan. 16), and the $500 Gargantuan that begins its first of two flights on Jan. 10 carries a whopping $300,000 guarantee.

West to Cali

With a packed schedule that is the WSOP Circuit series, the events often overlap between properties. While the poker party continues in Durant, the WSOP starts its series at Thunder Valley Casino in California, which is just north of Sacramento.

The first of 16 events starts again with a $75,000 guaranteed seniors event on Jan. 16. This one has a buy-in of $400 though. Taking place the same day is also the $400 Opener, which carries a prize promise of $250,000. From then until the first flight of the $1,700 Main Event on Jan. 24, players will play in daily tourneys with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $600.

The Main Event at Thunder Valley has a prize pool guarantee of $500,000. A $1,125 buy-in event with a $100,000 promise behind Jan. 26. Here’s the full schedule.

Off to Mississippi

Starting on Jan. 23, the WSOP Circuit brand sets up shop at the Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi with a $400 Opener carrying a $25,000 guarantee. On the same day is the first of a four-flight $400 event with a $100,000 guarantee. A $400 Monster Stack event on Jan 27, carries the same guarantee, as does a $600 Mystery Bounty event that begins Jan. 28.

The first of two flights in the $1,700 Main Event and its $500,000 guarantee starts Jan. 31, with the last tourney of the series taking place Feb. 3. The full schedule is here.

Florida bound

Wrapping up January, and heading into February, the WSOP Circuit makes its way to Florida’s Harrah’s Pompano Beach Casino. Expect big crowds at this one, starting with a $400,000 guaranteed $600 buy-in Mini-Main Event, which has four starting days.

On Feb. 2, a $250,000 guaranteed $1,100 Mystery Bounty begins, as well as $50,000 seniors event with a $400 buy-in. The three day $1,700 Main Event and its $1 million guaranteed prize pool starts February 6, followed by a $2,200 high roller event with a $100,000 promise.

The series ends with the $400 Double Stack Closer that has a $50,000 guarantee on Feb. 10. Click here for the entire schedule.
