Day 4 of the WSOP 2024 has ended with two more winners collecting a much sought after gold bracelet and Phil Ivey has entered the building.

The series is now in full flow and the excitement continues to build as more events kick off and poker’s biggest names begin to arrive.

Event #3: $500 WSOP Kickoff No-Limit Hold’em

The third WSOP 2024 champion to be crowned was businessman Daniel Willis who claimed victory in Event #3: $500 WSOP Kickoff No-Limit Hold’em.

The British amateur managed to hold off two-time bracelet winner Michael Wang to bank a $175,578 prize after topping a field of 3,485 entries containing plenty of elite players.

Willis was delighted with his victory and now plans to stick around to play in the highly popular Mystery Bounty event before returning to work.

Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

The second champion of the day was James Chen who took down Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.

Chen picked up a score of $209,350 after coming out on top at an all-American final table of eight players.

Poker pundit Jamie Kerstetter was the bubble girl coming ever so close to her second WSOP final table.

Event #5: $1,000 Mystery Millions

The Mystery Millions is the event that everyone’s had their eyes on in the early days of the WSOP 2024 schedule.

$1,000 to play and at least one player will be going home with at least $1,000,000 in their bank account. Last year saw a pair of seven-figure winners.

The first two starting flights brought the total number of entries to 5,519 with two more still to come. The prize pool currently sits at $1,303,260.

Event #6: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship

Day 4 of the WSOP 2024 was the first time we got to see giants of the game clashing in Event #6: $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship.

There was only room for 64 players to put up the hefty buy-in, building a $1,504,000 prize pool with half a million set aside for the winner.

Tonight’s play will see Artur Martirosian versus Darius Samual and Nikolai Mamut versus Faraz Jaka.

Event #7: $1,500 Dealer’s Choice

The Dealer’s Choice tournament is always a fan favourite. Who doesn’t like to watch players struggling to remember the best strategies from a bunch of rare variants.

This event is also loved by some of the big names. Six-time WSOP bracelet winners Shaun Deeb and John Hennigan are both doing well currently, as is online wizard Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.

Blom ended the day with the fourth largest stack and is one of the favourites heading into tonight’s play.

Phil Ivey Joins the Fray

The World Series of Poker just isn’t the same without Phil Ivey battling on one of the tables. The poker legend has now arrived  and is currently challenging in Event #8: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed).

Ivey made it through to Day 2 along with his fellow big hooters Chance Kornuth and Anthony Zinno.

Daniel Negreanu and Patrick Leonard both busted out early.

Ivey has 10 WSOP bracelets to his name but it has been more than a decade since he last won.

That said, he has been crushing as of late with plenty of success at the Triton Super High Roller Series and three WSOP final tables in the last two years.

Ivey is tied in second place in the bracelet leaderboard with Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, and Erik Seidel. Surely it’s just a matter of time.

Can he ever catch Phil Hellmuth’s total of 17 bracelets? That’s a tough ask but we would never recommend betting against the G.O.A.T Phil Ivey.
