Incredibly it is already day 7 at the 55th Annual World Series of Poker and with no bracelets being awarded there’s really only one thing people are talking about – THAT $1million bounty win!

Event #5: Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold’em
With 18,418 entries, the Mystery Millions saw 949 bounties up for grabs – a grand total of $5,523,000 tucked away in envelopes to be pulled by lucky players.
The two $1million prizes were of course the icing on the cake, but Ukrainian pro Valentyn Shabelnyk’s muted response to drawing a prize almost equal to his entire career earnings earned him even more notoriety.
The responses were brutal…
- Man, someone calm him down he seems too excited
- Wins a million from a mystery bounty, sprints back so he doesn’t miss a hand = should be an automatic 86 from the casino, confiscation of the bounty & disqualification. Criminal levels of pettiness.
- When you sell 110% of your action and then pull the milly bounty
- He’s probably 1 milly+ in make up with that reaction
Shabelnyk’s “celebrations” were in stark contrast to Matt Glantz’s when he pulled the $1million prize in 2022…

The second $1million prize drawn yesterday went to Daniel “DJ” Buckley, who at least made an attempt at enjoying the fact he’d almost doubled his career winnings in one fell swoop…

The tournament itself is down to the final 18, chasing a top prize of, you guessed it, $1million – which itself is almost double the second-place prize of $536,080. That means heads-up should be quite an interesting affair!
Event #10: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (8-Handed)
Scott Seiver holds the chip lead as the final four return today to decide the destination of the gold bracelet in the first of the $10k Championship events.
One of the strongest fields assembled so far saw 6-time WSOP champ Shaun Deeb (22nd for $20,309), 7-time bracelet winner John Hennigan (17th for $21,325) and 5-time WSOP winner Benny Glaser (6th for $75,678) all fall yesterday.
Seiver will face off against Calvin Anderson, Jonathan Cohen, and Paul Zapullah for the title.

Event #13: $10,000 Dealer’s Choice Championship
This event also had its share of Poker Hall of Famers turn out for day one, with Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey advancing to day 2, Ivey with a top 10 stack.
Erick “E-dog” Lindgren is a name many will recognize from the first hey-day of poker in the noughties, the former Full Tilt pro whose life was ruined by gambling making a comeback.
The 2008 WSOP Player of the Year already has two bracelets to his name, but he’ll face stiff resistance in his run towards a third. High Stakes Poker commentator Nick Schulman, German soccer star and poker fanatic Max Kruse, and defending champion Chad Eveslage are also still in the mix.
